Edges

In manufacturing, "edges" refer to the boundaries or contours of a part, where two surfaces meet, which are critical for fit, assembly, and sometimes, aesthetic or functional purposes.

Edges in manufacturing are the lines or boundaries where two surfaces of a part meet. They can be sharp, beveled, or rounded depending on the design requirements and the functional or aesthetic needs of the product. Edges are critical in determining how parts fit together during assembly and how they interact with other components. In some cases, edges are intentionally smoothed or chamfered to reduce stress concentrations, improve safety, or prevent damage during handling. Proper edge treatment, such as deburring or rounding, also enhances the durability and functionality of the finished product, improving both performance and user experience.
